Travel Itineraries with the Present Perfect Tense

EFL students, who are learning English in non-English speaking countries, get critically little language input, and class time is usually the best of what little there is. Incorporating pair work and collaborative task-based learning whenever possible increases engagement and opportunities for every student to receive and generate the target language. The following lesson plan was designed for pre-intermediate 4th and 5th grade EFL students building their knowledge of the present perfect tense by adding the adverbs yet and already. Through careful scaffolding and a clear context, the lesson should cement the sentence patterns and provide a platform from which other contexts of the present perfect or uses of the adverbs yet and already can be explored.
